  • How to Choose a Motherboard: 3 Levels of Skill ⇨ Sponsor: ASUS VG259QM 280Hz Monitor | #FramesWinGames Buying a motherboard can be a daunting task for new builders, so in this video I break it down on three skill levels: basic compatibility, features & extras, and components & build quality. **UPDATE AS OF 5/19/2020 -- AMD just announced that they WILL be adding support for 4000-series CPUs to B450 and X470 motherboards. They will need to set up a 1-way BIOS upgrade that will drop support for some 1st-gen Ryzen CPUs, and details are still forthcoming, but it's great news!** ►TIMESTAMPS 00:00 Intro 01:37 Level 1: Basic Compatibility 06:27 Level 2: Features and Extras 12:23 Level 2: Components and Build Quality ► VIDEO LINKS Beginner's Guide to Building a Gaming PC (Playlist): LGA vs PGA - Should You Get a Budget Chipset Motherboard? - My 5 Favorite Motherboard Features - ► RECOMMENDED CHANNELS Hardware Unboxed - Buildzoid / Actually Hardcore Overclocking - Please note that links above may be affiliate links -- clicking them earns me a small commission if you make a purchase and helps support my YouTube channel. I love how Paul's explained all this probably a thousand times before in random videos but still explains it calmly so even the dumbest layman can understand. Respect the patience, my man.

Hey Paul, I just wanna say thank you. One day I thought to myself that my MacBook Air wasn’t doing it for me in basic performance to even play Ravenfield so I went out to look for a gaming laptop. I looked around and found nothing I liked so I looked for a tutorial to see how difficult it was to build a PC. Yours was the first I found and you were the one who got me to now have my fist custom PC. You are a legend and I hope you can inspire many others to build like you did for me. Awesome video btw

Hey it's Intel here. Just to let you know, every time the clock hits 7 you need to buy a new motherboard.

Should probably have talked about M.2 slots and quality of front/rear IO. Full ATX boards usually have the space to fix eventual shortcomings through PCIe cards but it's an extra expense and complicates cable management.

As a private pilot, I am eagerly anticipating the release of MS Flight Simulator 2020. Would love to hear your thoughts on building a system to run that using 3 monitors. Also, for those of in quarantine, would love to hear your thoughts on building a home media server. Thanks!
